My Journey Home
In September 1999, at just 21 years old, I packed my life into a suitcase, said goodbye to my family in Spain, and crossed the ocean to begin a new life in New York City.
At the time, I believed that changing where I lived might change how I felt inside. I couldn’t have been more wrong.
Looking back, I realize the journey I truly needed to take wasn’t across an ocean—it was within myself.
Leaving Spain taught me something I would only understand many years later: home isn’t simply a place we return to. Home is a feeling we carry within us. Sometimes we have to travel far away before we discover that what we’ve been searching for has been inside us all along.
When I arrived in New York, I felt lost. Although I had studied hotel management and was beginning a new chapter, something was missing. I carried wounds from my childhood, struggled to value myself, and often searched outside myself for the happiness and peace I longed to find.
Then life gave me two incredible gifts.
The first was meeting my soulmate, Eduard, who gently encouraged me to keep searching—not for success or achievement, but for myself.
The second was my dear friend Maika, who insisted I join her for my first yoga class. To be honest, I wasn’t interested. I had never been flexible—not even as a child—and I couldn’t imagine myself doing yoga. But she didn’t give up, and eventually I said yes.
That one decision changed the course of my life.
At first, yoga was simply movement. But little by little, it became something much deeper. Through yoga, meditation, breathwork, and the guidance of extraordinary teachers, I began peeling away layers of fear, conditioning, and self-doubt. I discovered that healing isn’t about fixing ourselves—it’s about remembering who we truly are.
Later, my teacher Ranjitha introduced me to meditation, philosophy, and a completely new way of seeing life. She saw something in me that I couldn’t yet see in myself and encouraged me to become a yoga teacher. In 2003, I earned my certification, never imagining that yoga was not my destination, but the beginning of a much greater journey.
Sound healing became another turning point in my life. It helped me reconnect with my own voice, trust my intuition, and experience a depth of peace I had never known before. That experience inspired me to become a sound healing practitioner and became the doorway to exploring other healing modalities—including tuning fork therapy, cacao ceremonies, and reflexology—that now beautifully complement my work and allow me to support each person in a more holistic and personalized way.
Looking back, I can now see that every challenge, every teacher, every journey, and every unexpected twist in my life brought me exactly where I was meant to be. Life continues to invite me to heal, grow, and gently let go of the stories that no longer serve me. I no longer fear what comes to the surface. I welcome it, knowing that each layer I release brings me closer to myself.
One of my favorite quotes by Rumi says, «The wound is the place where the Light enters you.» Looking back on my own journey, I know this to be true. Some of my deepest wounds became the doorway to my greatest growth.
Today, whether I’m holding a sound healing session, leading a retreat, guiding a ceremony, or sitting with someone one-on-one, my deepest intention is the same: to create a space where people can slow down, reconnect with themselves, and remember the wisdom that has always lived within them.
My deepest wish is that you, too, remember the peace, love, and light that have always lived within you.
With love,
Judit
